At Kudaka Martial Arts Supplies, we don’t just sell bogu and men, we use them ourselves! Visit our dojo. Kumite (or controlled sparring), is the practical application of karate techniques. By using head and body armor, students can engage in controlled, full contact combat, testing their skills and developing superior reflexes. The use of anzen bogu and men conditions the weapons (hands, feet, elbows, etc), and allows students to feel what it is like to hit, and to be hit. Using our body armor is the ideal method of safely engaging in all types of kumite, both in class practice and in tournament competition. Kudaka Martial Arts Supplies came into being in 2006, during a frustrating period of time in which we were searching for affordable, durable sparring equipment for our Shorinjiryu Kudaka dojo.
